On April 14–15, 2026, Conbit will take part in the 29th International Offshore Crane & Lifting Conference (IOCLC) in Amsterdam—one of the most authoritative global gatherings dedicated exclusively to offshore crane and lifting technology. Organized by NSLT and OMHEC, the conference brings together regulators, experts, and industry leaders to advance safety, standards, and professional practice worldwide.

As part of the day-one morning program on April 14, Bram van Oirschot, Commercial Director at Conbit, will present a case-driven session titled “FAT as a Safety Barrier: Lessons from a Modular Offshore Lifting System Incident.” The presentation examines a real Factory Acceptance Test incident at Helang that revealed hidden design and operational assumptions before offshore deployment.
The session provides a transparent look into the investigation process and the corrective actions that followed. Technical design adjustments, procedural improvements, and human-factor considerations are addressed together, highlighting how safety in offshore lifting does not rely on engineering alone. Instead, robust FAT execution, clear responsibilities, and disciplined decision-making form a critical safety barrier.
With over two decades of international offshore project experience, Bram van Oirschot brings a practitioner’s perspective to the stage. As a member of Conbit’s Board of Directors, he has been closely involved in some of the industry’s most complex lifting operations. His work focuses on improving standards, learning from near-misses, and strengthening safety culture across the sector.
In addition to the presentation, Conbit will be exhibiting throughout the conference. Deniz Him and Mateus Lampert will be present to engage with delegates and continue discussions on offshore lifting safety, engineering challenges, and industry collaboration. The IOCLC offers a unique, non-commercial platform for meaningful exchange—reinforcing its role as the offshore lifting community’s premier meeting place.
