Palfinger is a global leader in hydraulic lifting solutions, with a strong presence in offshore, marine, and wind energy sectors. This page highlights Palfinger's offshore crane legacy, its diverse product portfolio, and how Conbit supports operators with maintenance, upgrades, and inspections, not only for cranes but also for life-saving appliances and other critical deck equipment.
Founded in 1932 in Austria, Palfinger began as a small workshop and grew into a global powerhouse in lifting technology. By the 1980s, Palfinger was constructing underwater cranes for offshore drilling rigs, and in 1992, it launched its first marine crane. Over the years, the company expanded its offshore capabilities through acquisitions and innovation, including the integration of Dreggen AS, a specialist in shipbuilding and oil & gas cranes.
Today, Palfinger Marine offers a wide range of offshore crane models:
- Knuckle Boom Cranes for high-load offshore lifting
- Foldable Knuckle Boom Cranes for compact deck spaces
- Telescopic Boom Cranes for flexible reach
- Wire Luffing Lattice Boom Cranes for extended outreach
- AHC Cranes with Active Heave Compensation for subsea operations
- Fully Electric Jib and Travelling Cranes for unmanned platforms
These cranes are deployed on oil platforms, wind substations, and support vessels worldwide.
Although Conbit does not own the intellectual property for Palfinger cranes, our offshore engineering team is highly experienced in servicing these systems.
We offer:
- Reverse engineering and spare part solutions
- Structural assessments and lifting studies
- Maintenance and inspection services
- Retrofit and upgrade solutions
In addition to crane support, Conbit also services life-saving appliances, including lifeboat davits, rescue boat systems, and winches. Our multi-brand expertise ensures safe and compliant operation of all critical deck equipment
