KenzFigee is one of the oldest and most respected names in offshore and harbour crane engineering. This page explores the company's rich history, its diverse crane models, and how Conbit supports operators of legacy KenzFigee cranes with maintenance, upgrades, and engineering, even without owning the original intellectual property.
The story of KenzFigee began in 1836 with the founding of Figee in Haarlem, Netherlands. Over the decades, Figee became known for pioneering steam-driven, grab, and floating harbour cranes. In the 1970s, Kenz emerged as a specialist in offshore lifting, delivering its first Ram Luffing crane in 1980 and Boom Hoist offshore crane in 1981. The two companies merged in 2005 to form KenzFigee, combining centuries of engineering expertise.
Today, KenzFigee's product portfolio includes:
- Ram Luffing cranes for compact offshore applications
- Boom Hoist cranes with capacities up to 800 tonnes
- Double Jib Level Luffing cranes
- Bulkbuster and Lemniscate floating cranes for bulk handling
- Active Heave Compensation (AHC) systems for deepwater operations
With over 4,500 cranes delivered worldwide, KenzFigee remains a trusted name in offshore, marine, and wind energy lifting solutions.
Although Conbit does not hold the intellectual property for KenzFigee cranes, our offshore engineering team is highly experienced in supporting these legacy systems.
We offer:
- Reverse engineering for critical components
- Structural assessments and lifting studies
- Maintenance and inspection services
- Retrofit and upgrade solutions
Whether it's a Ram Luffing crane on a North Sea platform or a floating Lemniscate crane in port operations, Conbit ensures these systems remain safe, compliant, and operational, minimizing downtime and extending equipment life.
